Testimonials

The teachers are so loving and thoughtful about each individual student. Using the Montessori Method, each child is able to move at the pace that is right for them. The teachers also look for opportunities to let the kids teach each other. For example, one of my kids has mastered one of the “works” that teaches multiplication, so the teachers will often ask him to teach other kids how to use it. It reinforces what he has learned and also teaches him empathy and patience.
Teachers at this school are effective
My daughter attended the pre-K program here for 1.5 years (started mid-year) and also did 2 summers at the camps. She entered as a shy 3-year-old and really blossomed, leaving at just shy of 6 with a strong personality, good friends, and great academic skills. She has always picked up reading and math easily, and here she was allowed to move beyond the basic counting and letter sounds she had mastered at 3 and entered kindergarten reading at a 1st grade level (based on kindergarten teacher’s ass…
Primary classroom parent
Dancing Pines Montessori was an extension of our home during our daughter and son’s formative years. There is a true partnership between the teachers and parents in developing the whole child. The environment, philosophy and execution of the lessons create a strong foundation for the students to become lifelong learners. Students are encouraged to have a voice, building their self confidence, while nurtured to help form their awareness as a budding global citizen.
Terrada Family
First off, they really, genuinely care! Everyone who I’ve met who works at Dancing Pines is kind, patient, passionate and loves and believes in what they do. When you combine that with what I can only explain as a magical location, in a beautiful red farmhouse on acreage with the sweet farm animals… you get a great environment for learning and growth.

Our daughter has gone here for a year and she loves it so far. 3’s program on a farm and she’s learned so much. We are excited for her to do her 4s program this year and even more so that she has a friend wanting to enroll also. They teach the kids so many skills I didn’t know a 3 year old could perform. The self learning discovery style has been great. Teacher Cheyanne left and we will miss her. Nonetheless we are still excited for our daughter to have her next year here. Her little broth…

Admissions Update:

For 2025-2026 school year:
WE ARE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS for FULL DAY students who are ready to enroll in Primary (ages 4.5-6) as well as Lower Elementary (ages 6-9). Apply today!

Waiting pool: there are a few factors contributing to enrollment, aside from date of application. We do our best to give priority to families with siblings already enrolled. Families who intend to do Montessori through the elementary years here at DPM will also be given priority enrollment. The child’s age is a big factor to ensure a balanced classroom, readiness of the child, and the commitment to Montessori practices at home contribute to our decision. There is an observation of the prospective student in the classroom with the teacher that takes place prior to enrollment.

For those reasons, it is impossible to promise applicants placement or openings in future enrollment periods. The best course of action is to thoroughly fill out an application, and contact us to schedule a tour and schedule a meet and greet. Enrollment for new families takes place each year in February.  [email protected].

Our Philosophy

Our vision of a strong education focuses on a developmental curriculum based on the Montessori philosophy provided in a nurturing environment. Dr. Montessori observed that children blossom when they are allowed freedom within a prepared environment and taught to work with concrete materials that fully engage their interest. These important tenets make education a fulfilling and refreshing process for children.

Where is DPM?

Dancing Pines Montessori is a private school tucked away on a farm in Kent, Washington.
We are located near the Lake Youngs reservoir, surrounded by trees and animals.
Outside of the classrooms, children experience the beauty of a 7-acre campus. Playing alongside animals and helping to care of them. As well as; taking walks in nature, participating in outdoor school (afternoon primary students), playing sports, exploring our pond, and utilizing 4 playgrounds giving children plenty of opportunities to jump, swing, climb, hang, and exercise gross motor skills.

Classrooms

Dancing Pines Montessori serves 3 age groups. We have the Primary classroom with students ages 3-6. Followed by the Lower Elementary classroom serving students ages 6-9. Lastly the Upper Elementary classroom guides children ages 9-12.
